Conflicting Goals
Many of us start our fitness journeys wanting to build big glutes and flat, sculpted abs.
But I have some bad news about those goals: they’re actually in conflict with one another.
Building a bigger bum requires a calorie surplus, while having flat abs typically requires a moderate calorie deficit (or at least strict maintenance).
And don’t forget that your genetics play a big role in your body shape.
So what should you do?
I have two pieces of advice.
embrace your unique body type.
First, learn to love your unique genetics and body type. We could all do the same workouts and eat the same foods and still look different. Nobody is you, and that’s a good thing. 🤍
cycle through each goal.
Second, consider cycling through each goal throughout the year. You may want to spend several months in a moderate bulk to build booty gains before switching to a moderate cut to reveal flatter abs.
