June Recap
June was quite a month.
Summer is in full swing and we’ve been busy with family events. We had gorgeous weather for a family wedding at Allegheny County Club. We celebrated my sister’s birthday on the 10th and Daisy’s birthday on the 22nd. Yes, that’s right - my youngest is officially two. How?
Alan started a new job last Monday. Our routine has changed slightly (for the better) and we’re all extremely thankful for this opportunity. We celebrated last Friday with dinner at Napa Prime Chophouse north of Pittsburgh. It was amazing, I highly recommend if you’re in the area!
I don’t think I’ve mentioned this, but I’ve become pretty interested in interior design this year. We’re in the process of updating several rooms in our house, and I’m happy to report that I finished the first half of my gallery wall. It was surprisingly difficult to find art and frames that matched without being too cohesive. You can see that I’m heavily inspired by vintage/midcentury West Coast vibes.
The Joshua Tree art is from studioUBILA on Etsy - be sure to check out their store for lots of beautiful travel prints. The abstract faces and mirror were impulse buys from Target, but they are great quality and surprisingly flowed with my theme really well. The yellow midcentury print is from one of my favorite shops Sugar & Canvas. The little watercolor on the right doesn’t quite jive with the others, but it’s an original I picked up at the Three Rivers Arts Festival over a decade ago. I just realized as I’m typing this that it has been with me through seven moves(!!). Lastly, the Gatsby print is also from Etsy - it’s one of my favorite books, and my daughter’s name choice may or may not be influenced by it. :)
Well that’s all for now. Thank you for reading <3
