4 Fitness Truths
One of my goals for my business is to simplify fitness for busy women. I am passionate about helping you create sustainable change that allows for freedom, flexibility, and enjoyment.
There’s a lot of misinformation out there, and I want to help you sift through the bad advice.
Here are 4 fitness truths that surprised me when I first started working out.
walking is a powerful weight loss tool.
I used to think walking was boring. It didn’t seem like it was challenging enough to have any benefit. Now I know that regularly hitting 10k steps each day can help strengthen your bones, regulate blood sugar, burn fat, and increase mental clarity.
form is more important than weight.
I have a lot of old videos on my phone where I was struggling through heavy lifts with poor form. This is a recipe for disaster. Bad form creates an unstable foundation that can lead to injury and burnout as you progress. You’ll be much better off if you master the basics before adding weight.
it takes time to see results (months or years).
I wish this one wasn’t true, but it is. Initial changes can take up to 6 weeks, while noticeable results typically start at 12 weeks or longer. Building lean muscle mass can take years to achieve. Enjoy the journey and don’t rush the process.
you don’t need to exercise every day.
In fact, you shouldn’t. Rest and recovery days are critical for success. You only need 3-4 workouts a week to see good results.
