Favorite Costco Proteins

My family saves a lot of money by shopping at Costco. And I’m always impressed with the quality and selection. Here are my favorite Costco protein finds right now.

Plain chicken breast is always on my grocery list. At Costco, you can usually find their chicken on a big white tray or in the individual bags pictured here. I meal prep chicken over the weekend so we have it throughout the week.

Amylu chicken burgers

I love the Amylu brand. Costco carries Amylu breakfast sausages, meatballs, and these onion and gouda chicken burgers. These are pre-cooked which is super helpful for busy weeknights. You can find them in the refrigerator section.

Guys, these pre-cooked steak strips are a game changer. They’re cooked to a perfect medium and safe to eat right out of the package. If you want them warm or more well done, simply throw them in a skillet or in the microwave. I eat them plain with vegetables or add them to a stir-fry.

Egg whites are an easy way to make a healthy, filling breakfast. I often take a carton to work and make an egg scramble in the microwave. Also, the price of regular eggs is through the roof right now, and these are more affordable.

Don’t even get me started on my love for cottage cheese. I almost always have some for a snack at work and as a meal before bedtime. My favorite way to prepare cottage cheese is to mix in berries, granola and a splash of sugar-free syrup.

When I first started shopping at Costco, I thought it would be too much food and we wouldn’t be able to finish it all. I’ve found that isn’t true. It’s helped my family eat healthy, reduce packaging waste, and save a lot of money.
